Cherry Blossom Festival

Experience Japanese traditional activities! Come and enjoy the Cherry Blossom Festival on March 22-24, 2019 at Downtown Japanese Friendship Garden of San Diego. Have fun with your entire friends and family!

During March 22, 23, and 24 from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM daily, visitors are able to enjoy the Japanese custom of hanami – appreciating the beauty of cherry blossom flowers. Last year, our cherry blossoms attracted over 12,000 people and are expected to surpass that number as this will be our third year holding the festival over three days! Each day will be accompanied by various food vendors, cultural performances and demonstrations, and a plethora of family-friendly activities!

San Diego Half Marathon & Padres 5K

Stretch and run! Come and join the San Diego Half Marathon & Padres 5K on March 10, 2019 at Downtown PETCO Park San Diego. Enjoy and an epic finish inside Petco Park!

The San Diego Half Marathon has been designed to carry runners over a spectacular 13.1-mile USATF-certified course, while showcasing one of the world’s most beautiful cities! Our signature scenic route begins between Petco Park and the San Diego Convention Center on palm-tree lined Harbor Drive and continues with spectacular views of the USS Midway Museum, San Diego Bay, San Diego’s skyline, Harbor Island, Spanish Landing Park and Cancer Survivor Park.

Chinese New Year Fair

Gong Hei Fat Choy! Come and celebrate the Chinese New Year Fair on February 16 – February 17, 2019 at San Diego Chinese Historical Society and Museum. See you there!

Celebrate the Year of the Pig with 15,000 of your closest friends at the 2019 Chinese New Year Fair, taking place on February 16th & 17th (3rd Avenue and J Street) in San Diego’s historic Chinatown district! We will have traditional and cultural entertainment all day long on both days, LION DANCES, kung fu, traditional instruments, classic Chinese dances, and so much more! We will also be featuring a very special Chinese Acrobatic performance on both days, so don’t miss out! No passport or plane ticket needed – it’s all right here. 2019’s fair is being presented and hosted by the Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association of San Diego.

2019 Cardiff Kook Run

Stretch and run! Come and join the 2019 Cardiff Kook Run on February 3, 2019, at 505 S Coast Highway 101 Encinitas. Have fun with your entire family!

The Cardiff Kook Run 5K, 10K and Costume Contest is a celebration of the greatest community in the most amazing town on the map. The course starts under the world famous “Encinitas” sign on historic HWY 101 in beautiful Encinitas, California. This scenic loop passes by the famous “Cardiff Kook” statue (The Magic Carpet Ride), rises above some of the most popular surf breaks in the world and heads down to Cardiff State Beach.

39th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day Parade

Mark your calendar! Come and join the 39th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day Parade on 20th of January 2019 at Harbor Drive – Embarcadero San Diego. Spend time and have fun together with your entire family!

This is one of the largest celebrations of its kind in the United States in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The parade is filled with dazzling floats, phenomenal High School Bands, Drill Teams, College, Fraternities & Sororities, Churches, Peace and Youth organizations. This parade is coordinated by the Zeta Sigma Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc., the oldest African American fraternity in America, founded in 1906. The seven men who founded this organization at Cornell University in New York recognized the need for a strong bond of Brotherhood among African descendants in this country. Dr. King was also an Alpha.

Solar Turbines 5K Run/Walk

Mark your calendar! Come and join the Solar Turbines 5K Run/Walk on December 31, 2018 at San Diego Harbor Front. Spent time and have fun together with your entire family!

The 25th annual Solar Turbines 5K at the Port of San Diego Holiday Bowl Parade will take place along San Diego’s beautiful harbor front. Athletes will run past 100,000 cheering spectators. Runners, families, and spectators can watch the remainder of the parade that features colorful floats, bands, and huge inflatable characters. Awards are three deep in all divisions. A colorful short sleeve, tech t-shirt will be given to all adult participants, and cotton t-shirts will be given to youth participants.
