Ocean Beach Kite Festival

Looking for a perfect event to bond with your family? Then Ocean Beach Kite Festival is the perfect event for you! Head over to Dusty Rhodes Park on May 12, 2018 and fill your day with live music, street fair, carnival rides and, of course, kites. Experience the oldest children’s kite festival in the United States.

Youngsters are taught how to make and fly kites. All materials are supplied. There are prizes for the best-decorated kites. Any handmade kite can be submitted, not just kites made at the festival.

Heartbreak Ridge Run

Sweat your heart out and be part of an off-road running race! Join Heartbreak Ridge Run on April 14, 2018 at the Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton. The Western Surfing Association (WSA) is the oldest amateur surfing association in the USA and, by far, the largest on the West Coast. The WSA, established in 1961, is a California non-profit corporation dedicated to promoting and preserving the sport of surfing through fun, family oriented surf competitions. WSA is an official West Coast member organization of Surfing America.

Art lover? The Circle of Art is the perfect event for you! Visit Christmas Circle on March 10 – 11, 2018 and feed your eyes with amazing artworks of approximately 60 artists as they exhibit their stunning works! This event is free so don’t forget to bring your family and friends!

Organizers select about 60 artists for the show each year, exhibiting quality paintings and artworks representing a variety of media including oil and watercolours, photography, sculpture, ceramics, pottery, weaving and jewellery.

Each year an artist is selected for the featured art on a 22″ x 28″ print commemorating the show. Prints from current & previous years are available for purchase (some signed by the artists), featuring works by artists Marjorie Reed, Carol Duffy, Andre Blanche, Dillie Thomas, Dusty Kinman, David Salk, Nancy Lynn, Lee Jayred, Dorothy Cochran, Sunny Daniels and more.
